The view of Zante from Bochali Castle – in Zakynthos Greece

If you want to have a coffee with a fantastic view on the Greek island of Zakynthos, drive up to Bochali, one of our favourite spots to relax. This neighbourhood is located on the hill, where you have a bird’s eye view over Zante town and the harbour. No prizes for guessing why they put a fortress up here to keep an eye out for Turkish invaders.

Coffee at Bochali in Zakynthos

We can recommend the typical Greek summer drink of Frappé – chilled milky coffee with froth on top. A delicious alternative is a Freddoccino – a chilled cappuccino, and this is the premier spot on the island to sit and sip it.

The coffee may be expensive but on a sunny day it’s worth every penny for that view.

How to get to Bochali in Zakynthos

You can take the small tourist train from St Mark’s Square, which makes a stop at Bochali by the cafes and viewpoint. If you have a hire car, you can drive up although the route takes you through the backstreets of Zante town and up a steep hill, but at the top there is a large car park. There’s also a walking path although the way is very steep.
